Friends 'Forever' Poem by Michelle Dragonfly

Friends 'Forever'

Rating: 5.0

I could tell you what I think.
But you wouldn't understand.
I could tell you what I need.
But you wouldn't lend a hand.

I thought we were close,
Best of friends.
I wish that I had known that
Friendship easily ends.

I told you the truth
That was my mistake.
I should've kept it hidden
Now that's a piece of cake.

But what does it matter?
You left me alone.
I tried to mend the gap,
But now it's fully grown.

Topic(s) of this poem: break up
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I put 'break up' as the topic, but I guess it isn't the typical type of breakup. It's more of 'this person used to be my friend but we quit being friends' than two people aren't dating anymore. I wrote this one a few months ago, it's not very recent.

great poem! Its quite sad. Pain from something can totally blind people of reality. I dont think lying/hiding is ever the answer but I can see why someone might feel that way when put in a situation.
