I Am Poem by Christina Simmons

I Am

Rating: 5.0

I'm a warm smile to a soul feeling dishearten
Gingerly moving a long On a cold winter's morning
Or a wet and breezy dark night; I will warp you in my arms
Shielding you with a suave shawl FOR I am the person who
Understand your woes - affliction pinning you down - resembling
A spear fastening its victim to a pole

Demonstrating kindness itself I will not let you Go hungry
Come to me and I will share my last meal with you
Will not let you fall asleep without a bite to eat

When the spirits turned to me for guidance from the dungeon
Ball and chain around their ankles/neck
Discovered I am spirituality; complicated, complex
And hard to figure out - making heads nor tails; confusing and baffling; Left shaking heads, rocking them silly - Driven insane

Nature's friend: Caring so well for the trees/plants
And wildlife....Flowers: Nothing fills me with glee to see the birds/roses gleaming at me for being so true; - not asking any questions Just going with the flow of the stream/river

Wrote this poem at a time when I was struggling to understand me as a person; what made me tick - standing out in a crowd. Where did I fit in society? . The planet. Universe.
