I Am A Woman Poem by Rigzen Angmo

I am a symbol of compassion, pure love and heart;
Venus symbolizes my heavenly part.
Through shade and sun and everywhere;
I am known for my love and unconditional care.
I am known as a "daughter" in one of my roles.
One who loves dresses, cute toys and dolls.

I nurture the family and sing to my child;
With my lullaby I keep her beguiled.
Through her first steps, she falls in my arms;
And when she cries, through me only she calms.
I cry about with joy, when the first word she utters
Because it is my name, yes its "mother".

In yet another role, I am known as a "Wife"
A support through blues and a partner for life.
I do the chores for which no one pays;
Without acknowledgement I work in all ways.

Yes, I am known with different names through life;
A mother, a daughter and also a wife.
I may look frail but am strong and vast,
Am determined, am resilient and Iron Cast.
I am this, I am that; am different for everyone
I grow with patience and a will to learn.
No matter with what name you know me as;
Am proud of the one that stands common,
Am known as a Giver, I AM A WOMAN.
