i'm dressed in a suit
i sit at a table to eat.
am i then,
civilized?
i hold in my hand,
the most advanced.
the machine that determines
both Life and Death.
am i,
civilized?
i spent my childhood in school,
years attaining knowledge
so as to grow up to be
the best.
the strongest.
the survivor.
i am educated
therefore am civilized.
i am a human
and not a beast
though i but live
to kill and eat
my food is cooked
i kill with bombs
and not with stones and sticks.
therefore am advanced
therefore am civilized.

Hello, Cain. I like this poem. So powerful, so double-edged, so cool in its sarcasm. Its message is similar to one long poem I wrote some years ago. I called it Vanishing. I will post it in a moment for you.
