I am happy that I am a writer
I may not be a very good writer
But I am a writer
And writing has given
Through fifty years
Moment by moment
Meaning to my life.

For most of my life
It has been this way
I am grateful for this
I am happy to write
I love to write
It may have been largely delusion and failure
But it has helped make my life happy.
