I Am The Ruler Of The Nights Sky Poem by Andrea Nassif

I Am The Ruler Of The Nights Sky

I am the ruler of the nights sky
I've forged each star in place
The air, the moon, the sun that shines
No human can replace.

From dust you were created
And to dust all must return
I look down from the heavens
With hope that you will learn.

The gift of life is priceless
When will you start to see
There is no point in being human
Without humanity.

I blessed the earth with beauty
In ways that are untold
The sunsets, seas and mountains
All majestic to behold.

But you don't appreciate
The gifts I give to earth
Instead you choose destruction
As if that's of any worth.

You choose to hate each other
Even though you are the same
You wage wars over race, religion and politics
And what is there to gain?

All you gain is sadness
You break each others hearts
You let blood stain the earth
You all play your parts

Then you rape your women
Even though it is from her you came
You look around and wonder
Who is it I should blame?

You sell your souls for money
Each man has his price
You think you will live forever
Let me give you some advice.

Death comes to you all
He leaves nobody out
Your money will mean nothing
Of that I have no doubt.

After all that has been done
You look to me and wonder
'Why does God do nothing? '
As if it were my blunder.

What you need to understand
Is that this all comes from you
The day you learn to love each other
Is the day peace will ensue.
