I Applaud The Shy One Poem by Francis Duggan

I Applaud The Shy One

I applaud the shy one the stranger to fame
That few ever bother to mention by name
Not into self promotion in any way
Of self one who never has that much to say
Celebrities in the news do like to stay
We read and we hear about them every day
The praises of the gullible masses is an ego pumping thing
They love it when others their praises does sing
The kind and compassionate quiet achievers are those I admire
For to be wealthy and famous they never to aspire
To me they are worthy of admiring indeed
As they are always willing to help one of helping in need
These are the people I can only admire
And of singing their praises I never could tire.
