I Cannot Sleep

Why is it that I cannot sleep?
I cannot sleep. I cannot sleep!
My mind wanders like straying sheep.
Like straying sheep. Like straying sheep!

I only know I love you so;
And tried my best to let you know.
Alas, in pain I let you go.
I let you go. I let your go!

Each night I pray for you my love,
And look for answers from above.
Each day I think of only you;
And long for a love that's true.
Another day has come and gone,
Still I find myself all alone.
Again I lay down to sleep, but
I cannot sleep. I cannot sleep!

My mind wanders like straying sheep.
Like straying sheep. Like straying sheep!
Oh, why is it that I cannot sleep?
I cannot sleep. I cannot sleep!

    I'll try reciting your poem next time I can't sleep. (Report) Reply

    Good writing, Loyd!
    Yes, I had a lot)
    But maybe I never force myself to sleep. I think, I always take it easy. Often such sleepless nights are the best time to talk to myself, or sooner not to myself but to someone I know (to talk in thoughts) . The time when all that should and could be done is done and nobody is disturbing you, and you can think about everything and dream about everything, and cry for everything to leave your worries out of mind. I know that the worst thing is when you've got no one to talk to, but also I know that if you have not, you can imagine such person. And such imagined conversation works much better than counting sheep or any sleeping meds. (Report) Reply
