I Choose Me Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

I Choose Me

It's so many things you've done to me
Much to my chagrin you care none for me
And I would give you all of me
But I won't, won't anymore
I tried loving you, Now I hate you to the core
Nothing will be fair in the coming war
In this fate of love it will be
What comes of us, I choose me

If it's broken, it's not working
Whatever it costs won't be worth it
Once upon a time it was perfect
Even if it were to go back there
It just wouldn't be enough
I choose me
And it will be
What is more worth it

Have found out what's been a secret
And you love me only when it's convenient
Charming delivery and it's all history
You can't escape the penalty of perjury
I tried loving you, Now I hate you to the core
It's time to pay dues
In this fate of love it will be
What comes of us, I choose me

Can't keep trying
I'm giving up
What you ain't supplying
Is a love
To fill the heart
I'm so over you
Now watch what I'll do
