I Close My Eyes Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

I Close My Eyes

I close my eyes when I kiss you.
For I know then that all will be right.
In closing them I protect them,
From your blinding and heavenly light.

I’ve found that you are my soul-mate.
No one else could ever do.
Delivering miraculous healing salvation,
And the joy of life I’ve found in you.

Can you hear the angels singing?
They call from the other side.
If I find that I am without you,
It’s just because I would have died.

I close my eyes when I kiss you.
It’s then that I’m living my dream.
As if I have been knighted by a princess,
Who someday will rule as my queen.
