I'D Take You Back Poem by Samantha White

I'D Take You Back

I remember when you used to say,

you loved me too much to ever hurt me.

So quickly you stole my heart away,

from all my sadness you set me free.

I finally trusted you with my heart,

never knowing what a mistake I'd made.

Never knew in the end you'd tear me apart,

making me turn once again to the blade.

I thought you loved me despite the distance,

Thought you trusted me to never lie.

You saved me with your very existence,

Loved me when to the world I almost said goodbye.

I guess falling for you was a terrible mistake,

But now I just can't seem to let you go.

I want so bad to forget this heartache,

of the pain I feel you'll never know.

Even though you hurt me so bad,

I would take you back in a heartbeat.

It's amazing how at you I can never be mad,

without you I just don't feel complete.
