I Did Not Weep
I did not weep
I did not weep for a long time
I have seen two world wars
I have seen ruins of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
I have seen the demolition of twin towers
Yet I did not weep
because I have drunk all tears of my eyes
but my eyes were unable to see
so it shed blood in lieu of tears
Still I see the sufferings of daily life
but I do not weep
because I have fear, if I weep
the great flood would come and
the world would sink in my tears
