Assorted Thoughts (7/20/2008 7:54:00 PM)
The fine line between love and hate comes to mind when reading this. It's easy to hate the people that bring us to such extremes. Do we really love them? Or, do we hate them for having such power over us? Of course, Pablo says it best. This one is a classic that will endure forever. |

An honest portrayal and description of true love. One who does not appreciate must surely be a fool. |

The hate in love we feel when someone has betrayed us-simply and beautifully written. Love is indeed a multi-faceted emotion, and Neruda expresses it so well. |

My Goodness! Right to the quick. How Neruda expresses the loves that have paraded in and out of my life...how painful. And yet the memory that Pablo issues forth with this masterpiece.... once again begins the parade. |
