I Dreamed Of My Father Again Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Dreamed Of My Father Again

I dreamed of my father again
I have his face now
I had my mother's once
Whenever I try to give a happy smile
It has a deep sadness
This is my life now
I cannot change it
My father is in me
And I will never escape
The deep sadness in the smile
And the deep deep dark look
Which does not know how not
To almost cry.
