I Forgive You Everything Poem by Persa Corbalokovic

I Forgive You Everything

I forgive you the look,
That caught me in the web.
Just one that got me at hook.
One look was enough to ebb.

I forgive you the touch,
That wiped out all before.
Just one was too much.
One touch was ample to sore.

I forgive you the word,
That hurt me deep down.
Just one I have heard.
One word made me a clown.

All these I can forgive, but
Silence, that absurd fence,
That cut me, us, out, CUT,
Like a knight with a lance,

I thought I would never! But I will
As well forgive that limitless abyss.
The whole lot I will forgive, until
One day you say: Something is amiss.

That very day I will not be near
To stand the look or touch back,
To gulp your word, for you to fear.
Then you’ll know it’s love you lack.
