as before, i came
to you in a steady pace
thanked you as i came
but couldn't look you in the face
as before, i smiled
with hands behind my back
the wind though, was mild
it began to attack
i tightened my fist
on the gift i hid behind me
the wind brought mist
but i made sure you saw me
i stretched my sweaty hand out
with the gift on my palm
and hoped you wouldn't pout
i was right, you kept calm
my eyes down, i felt you accept it
not glass, jewel nor metal
i went away contended
i had just gifted you a petal
