I Have A Friend.. Poem by Kelly Aragon

This poem is for a teacher and friend I had when I was in 5th grade, she helped me through some very hard times. She died of kidney failure, and even though she was much older than me, I treasure the friendship I had with her, and she will never be forgotten.

I have a friend,
Who passed away,
I never even got to say,
Goodbye my friend,
I really hate,
How you had to,
Just pass away,
It makes me sad,
But I know that,
I'm happy too,
Because now you,
Are finally free,
Of your pain,
And suffering,
And even though,
I miss you so,
I know that you,
Are happy now.
