I Have Loved Poem by Medea Kali

I Have Loved

I have loved you
With all will and power,
I have loved you
Because love is what befits
My brave Texan knight in shining armor
With tears and misery,
I have washed away your name
Erased your face from my remembrance
This love, I deeply mourn
Everything is broken and shattered
All threads connecting our hearts
Are beyond repair, cannot be sewn again
I have loved you
It is my sin and shame
That I have loved you
And made all sacrifices required
I have loved you
And every piece of my soul
Was glued to yours, you sweet liar
I have loved you
But I will not be yours again
I have loved you
But I still see her waiting for you there
In Paris, under the rain with her golden hair
I have loved you
It pains to hear myself saying that
Because I have loved you
And a piece of you is still missing
In me somewhere there, dwelling forever there.
