Ode On A Summer Night Poem by Medea Kali

Ode On A Summer Night

This is a bad dream, a morbid vision
of what is not supposed to be
Haze in my eyes from God's forbidden weeds
Medea's revenge on Butterfly's long awaited savior
'Tied by blood, by breeds descended from the soul of God'
Linger in my head, dwell forever in my shattered spirit

I am anxiously awaiting the shaking of a merciful hand
A blow to my existence... A sobering awakening
I fear tomorrow if it comes
oh God, why not take me into your realm
why not deliver a poor creature from the burdens of the heart
The hatred of mankind, the loathing in their eyes

'Jason took the sacred union of our loves and took it to her bed,
I am not humble nor weak, but i feel the sores open up and bleed'
And while her wrath took what it took, she unwept
the burning stinging ache in her heart
Swept it with the sand under her feet
walked away and ended that life-mocking mascarade

I will not succumb to this, I will not accept life as it it
Her wrath tempts me to commit horraneous honorable crimes
I will be justified, I will be admired by my kind
I will not yeild, coil my wings, or die away
not weak, not meek, nor poor so your wicked hearts pity me
I will not die, I will not die.
