I Have Seen Some Fading Red Roses (Cavatina) Poem by Gert Strydom

I Have Seen Some Fading Red Roses (Cavatina)

I have seen some fading red roses,
pink hollyhocks,
all withering at the end of summer,
stripped like rocks,
many trees standing like huge skeletons;
the sheer amok
that black ripe brings as it falls destroying,
and that all life has also an ending
