I Looked For You



i looked for you
in that hopeful dreading way
i looked for you
as i prayed you'd stay away

held my breath as
i entered every room
Then sucked in a breath
After each potential tomb

i thought of you
visualizoed your smile
the way you couldn't hide it
when the boys walked down the aisle
