I love a gay man, with all my heart.
I've always loved him, from the very start.
Since he was a child, I always knew,
When he would come to me, and ask what to do.
I was there to take care, and watch over him,
When someone decided just on a whim.
That he needed a beating, because he was gay,
So with my wife and I he came to stay.
I'd beat off the bullies, and he always knew,
He could come to me, He knew what to do.
I've never wavered, in my love he knows,
And as we grow older, it only grows.
He is my cousin, my uncles son,
To him I'm just Johnny, when he comes undone.
I am his shoulder to lean on and cry,
About him he knows I never lie.
He's simply my cousin, blood of my blood,
And you know no mistakes are made by God.
I will love this man till the day I die,
Or till the stars, fall from the sky.

" And as we grow older, it only grows." i'd replace " grow" with " get" . Well, have you died or the stars fallen yet? nice. to MyPoemList and maybe to share on PH. bri :)
