I Love You Poem by Desmond Govan

I Love You

I never thought being love would be so hard. Hard to keep it going and harder to make it last. Knowing how much I want to be with you, and how hard I would try to make that happen, it just seems like it's worth trying. When I told you I love you, I love you no less than I love you from the moment I told you. It's unique how things turned out in the future. We didn't know where our relationship would take us. Or how far we would have to go to accomplish it. Knowing that it is just you and I, that's all I needed. I don't care about all the bad things that happened in my life, or all the good things that happened, because you're the only thing that my life needs and wants. If you aren't those good or bad things, what's the point of having them, if every moment isn't with you. I'd sail across the ocean just to tell you my love for you. Even if I had to swim. You'll all I ever wanted, and more. I never thought I could feel this way about anybody until I met you. I thank you for giving me these feelings that I never thought it was possible to have. I thank you for being there for me, even through the hardest part. Yes, we both know we have our arguments, and we both don't like them. But I know each time we have an argument, it brings us closer together, which makes us unbreakable. I'd give my last strand of breath just to tell you I love you. You mean more than I could ever tell you. Sometimes it doesn't seem like it, but inside, my feelings overtop all the other feelings I have inside. And it's all because of you. I love you so much. I hope we never break up.
