I Love You But I Love Me Too Poem by Abena Truth

I Love You But I Love Me Too

You held me down,
And I swore it would be the last,
From this day onwards,
You would become my past,

How can I leave you,
When my heart loves you so,
I keep plucking up the courage,
But my heart won't let you go,

I love you so much,
But the pain we cause is great,
And everytime we argue,
My love just turns to hate

I love you, BUT, I love me too,
Which is why today, I have to leave you.
