I’m sorry for being there
when you wanted time alone
time with your guys
and time away from me.

I’m sorry for wasting your time
with the letters I wrote
the cards I’ve painted
and the surprises I planned.

I’m sorry if I’ve been a pain
rather than comfort
during days you seek
and I wasn’t enough.

I’m sorry for everything
our moments together
the true love that died
and hearts that lied.

Most of all,
when time heals my mind
and these bruises are gone
I’m sorry you lost the best.
