I Say Well I Say Poem by marterio hall

I Say Well I Say

Life in the neighborhood doesn't get better.
People doing things that they shouldn't do. Like women on the corner selling their body for things. Kids running crazy no where to run too.
I say well, I say to my people, get out and get a job.
Tired of going outside feeling like I'm going to get rob.
Men selling drugs, kids getting shot for people on the run.
I say well, I say shame; we can't go outside and play it just like war.
Only it's men against men, kids against kid's women against women. I say well I say I'm tired I'm not going to suffer no more.
Is that why people kill themselves? No reason, no life, is it to get away from your misery? I say well I say I'm going to be the bigger person and walk away that what I say.
