I See Poem by Lio Estrada

I See

I See

I see a woman struggling without the slightest clue
with a kid not a day older than two
I see these two left by a man that didn't know any better
they are left with nothing, not even a goodbye letter

I see a woman's face, hours of work taking its toll
Ends are not being met, so she has to work the poll
I see a debt piling up with bills she has to owe
I see a kid with a father that he'll never get to know

I see pain worsened by alcohol and its abuse
I see a letter and a knocked over stool under a noose.
I see black, I see misfortune
I see nothing but an orphan
