I Told The Truth The Other Day Poem by Shalom Freedman

I Told The Truth The Other Day

I TOLD THE TRUTH THE OTHER DAY

I told the truth the other day
I tell it today-

The truth about myself
Is my poem-

But why should anyone else care?

Because it is their truth and their poem and their life?

I don’t know and I don’t think so -
But maybe for some for some time in some way -perhaps –

I speak my truth
Is it yours?
And does our truth matter anyway?
