I Took A Chance With You Poem by Jeff Fleischer

I Took A Chance With You

Rating: 5.0

Do not think that you can toy with me.
Do not believe that my love is for free.
You do not have any idea what I am all about.
You have only given me cause to shout.
I took a chance with you,
And ended up with a failed romance.
My pain is here for all to see,
That we were never meant to be.
You have hurt me for the last time.
Let the punishment fit the crime.
Your presence is no longer needed.
Now I will no longer feel abused and mistreated.
From your eyes, wipe those tears.
They will not make up for all the bad years.
Do not say that you still love me. It is much too late.
You must have known that our love was seldom ever great.
All I know is that it is finally over.
My luck never included a four leaf clover.
At least now I will be content,
'Cause my heart you will no longer dent.
