I'Ve Not Seen Them For Many Seasons Poem by Francis Duggan

I'Ve Not Seen Them For Many Seasons

I've not seen them for many Seasons and I may not see them never more
From the siblings that I grew up with I do live on a distant shore
In life they have gone on their own ways and their life's journeys are different to mine
But on the pathway of our life's journey the sun it does not always shine
We spent our earlier years in Claraghatlea a mile from the Town of Millstreet
We now live in different Countries and as a family we may never again meet
We all seemed to enjoy our young years and of happy times we did know
Till the lust of the wander grew in us and on our separate ways we did go
I can visualize them as they were though I have not seen them for years
Though I'm too old now to feel homesickness and too old for nostalgic tears
Perhaps I will never more see them though we are of the one family
Still in my thoughts I often see them they have not aged in my memory
I've not seen them for many Seasons and from them I live far apart
But I remember them with fondness and today they live in my heart.
