I Want To Be Smiling Poem by Dayan Darko

I Want To Be Smiling

Rating: 4.0

I want to be smiling When it's time to retire
From the job assingned by my Maker
And by fellow man
I want to be smiling and it shouldn't be a satire

I want to be smilng
Knowing the power was not abused
Nor the gift misused
Kowing I've not been a waste
Of time and earth's space
Knowing I've not been a waste
Of love, God's love and bred hate
Of breath, God's breath and made the air stale
I want to be smiling and it shouldn't be a difficult case

I want to be smilng
Knowing my future is secured
And my rest sweet assured
Knowing stacked up safe are tressures in heavenly vaults
Obtained through means without fault
Knowing that all my gain
Are but fruition of my toil and pain
I want to be smiling, and to that joy,
No sadness for a cure

Iwant to be smiling
Even when grey eyes stare
And icy hands touch
Knowing home from hades is far
And my purchased soul to it's owner march
Knowing all of me down I laid
Which was only a token of the price for me paid
Knowing my words to one wa shope set alight
And my actions to another, thoughts set aright
I want to be smiling knowing those who with love at me stare,
As well as I, are in His steady care.
