I Was Not There Poem by Anthony Acquah

I Was Not There

I was not there to see you shed your first tear
I was not there for your first love
I was not there to comfort you
I was not there when you were experiencing your heartache, the pain of youraffliction to drink

I was not there when you needed me
The most to comfort you and take away the pain
You must have been feeling
I was not there and now
I can never be there, for youare gone forever
Sleeping now in the arms of the Father
