I Weep Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

I Weep

How callous are the minds that kill
The helpless child in his fetal form!
He is a human being that in time will
Come out and be a crying newborn.

I find no valid reasons that justify
Such practice, views, and ghastly laws,
That terminate the child and let him die
Cut into pieces by man-made claws.

Whatever has become of our humanity?
Are we but the worst of Earth's savages?
That we make legal such awful brutality
With no qualms or anger in us that rages?

I weep for the lost lives of these children,
Hear their silenced cries of anguish!
We are lost as the specie of most cruel men,
We carved our demise, as to evil we perish!

We are a brutal, thoughtless species. But there are those who redeem us
