I Will Find The Kindness That Lies Deeper Than My Tattoos Poem by Christina Ramirez

I Will Find The Kindness That Lies Deeper Than My Tattoos

I'm not going to let you get away with it,
While I'm slumped against the wall with my wrists slit.

I would love to make you feel ashamed
Or to stand on my soapbox and state your name.

But that's the one thing that I can not do
Instead, I will find the kindness that lies deeper than my tattoos.

And rather I'll surprise all and say 'Thank You.'
For you've finally shown me the true you.

I've given up for the last time
Whether we never speak or see each other from time to time.

I'll never know, for the ball is in your hands
For I'm tired of taking the last stand.

So do what you will with what I've given you
And pray that when you say 'I'm Sorry', I'll be able to forgive you.
