I Will Not Read Your Mind - Poem by Nur Meiyati

I will not read your minds
I will not translate your words
I will not analyze your attitude towards me
I will just listen to what you say
I will just read what you really write
I read your poems and maybe I can understand the contents
But I will never think that any poems from anyone are dedicated to or about me
Unless my name is mentioned or it is clearly stated
I will not squander my time
For traveling in a bewildering labyrinth
I will not intentionally walk on a cobweb
And get lost in a subtle sticky woven net
I will not waste my mind for solving a complex puzzle
I will not assume, I will not guess
I prefer to hear, to read, and to know from your declaration
So express your feeling, mind and intention towards me
Clearly and precisely
Then I will know
