I Wish For Peace Poem by Serena Blackinton

I Wish For Peace

On the fringes of reality
I'm here alone, but that's fine with me
I come and I go as I please
Drifting in and out of sanity.

I'd like to say that I love you dearly
But I cannot do it any more freely
Our time has been swept up in the breeze
Lost forever in a sea of profanity.

The music playing inside my head
Makes me abstain from playing dead
Gives me something in which to believe
Returns me to my own humanity.

I wish for peace in this time of war
Don't wonder what all the fighting is for
It's time to pause - it's time to breathe
And deliver mankind from its inanity.

Hello Serena. I take your poem at first read to speak of possible a person involved in an unhealthy relationship, which happens all too often. It s better sometimes to be alone with little than to have plenty in the face of strife. I enjoyed, Loyd
