I wrote a poem for her,
To tell her of my love.
One that would make her purr,
Just like a turtle dove.

I wrote a poem one day,
For a broken heart.
To see if I could delay,
The sorrow from the start.

I wrote a poem for life,
And all the ups and downs.
For the happiness and strife,
For the smiles and for the frowns.

I wrote a poem for me,
To figure myself out.
And then maybe I could see,
What life was all about.
