If Poem by Unspoken Truth

If

If only I have never opened my eyes;
I would never have to see you in disguise;
Then we could still joke, tease and be nice;
And would never have to deal with dirty lies.

If you did not make me so happy and gay;
And came to me during times of bad and dismay;
Things would never have gone this sad and grey;
You've been the sweetest sin, this I have to say.

If you were still right here by my side;
Then I could show you the pain I hide;
We could be honest for once and reveal the inside;
Instead of displaying false hopes on the outside.

And if only you could have as much endearment;
I would never have to deal with such discontent;
But I guess we were part of love's disappointment;
That it was just another typical weak attempt.

If you have never slammed the front door shut;
A lot of others would never have opened up;
Now that everything is finally crystal clear;
I should walk away and leave with no fear.

If we were meant to be forever;
Then I guess we'll somehow end up together;
Then again, chances of you being better?
Please, I realised I've grown smarter than ever.
