If Bit Have Wit Poem by Ima Ryma

If Bit Have Wit

A scarlet king snake is my name,
Multi colored from tail to head
Of shiny scales, my body frame,
Black and white and yellow and red.
Oft confused with the coral, my cuz,
Venomous, while I be mellow.
If bit, here is the rhyme that does -
Red on yellow, kill a fellow.
But red on black, venom it lack.
So if I bite you, some time give
To note my back be red on black.
Hopefully, you will let me live.

Just don't fret much if I bite you.
Just say the rhyme and then say, 'Whew! '
