If I Had Wings Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

If I Had Wings

If I had wings
You know this instant
that I will fly to you.

More than anything
Nothing is distant
Wings can't reach out to.

If I had wings
I'll fly to touch
And make you feel how much,

I longed to be
In your embrace
There with you all my days.

I'd soar
the boundless galaxies
And take you in a starry ride

Mock Time
In Love's eternities
In space so far and wide!

We'll bed
On rainbows with the moonbeams
Gracing skies our nightlight,

But this I dread
I have no wings it's just in dreams
That I can take my flight.
