If I Was A Boy Poem by Jacinta Nabakooza

If I Was A Boy

If I was a boy,
I would pluck flowers
every dawn,
gift them to my sweet mama
and tell her I love you

If I was a boy,
I would catch sunrises
every morning,
give them to my sister
and assure her of my protection

If I was a boy,
I would wrap the sunsets
every dusk,
take them to my wife,
I would lie down with her on the long grass
and watch the night clouds in the starry sky.
