If I were a Woofy Dog
With a waggy tail,
Then I would learn to catch a frog
And ride upon a whale.
I'd have a lovely, juicy bone,
Full of mincy meat,
And I would eat it all alone
Under the garden seat.
I wouldn't have to toe the heel
Or learn some silly tricks,
I wouldn't have a scrappy meal,
I wouldn't pick up sticks.
The Poppil Sparrow we would hunt,
Tinker Pup and I,
And we would catch the Gooby Grunt,
The wild boar with one eye.
Absolutely delightful. Another one I can send to my young grandchildren.
Charming piece. I lost my woofy dog not long ago. I miss him every time I sit down to write a poem. I felt as if I rated 'ten' with him every time. Regards, Sandra Fowler
Absolutely adorable, Tan. I enjoyed it start to finish - well done! Warmest regards, CJ
