If Jesus Were Messiah Poem by gary polonsky

If Jesus Were Messiah

If Jesus were Messiah
Sun across His face,
Would paupers and pariahs
Dominate the race?

Ditto with Muhammad,
His minaretted way‎,
Stirring up his comrades
Five times per day.

Hindus and their castes,
Gold upon their feet.
Palaces so vast
When not sleeping on the street.

Buddhists ring their chain,
Chant a peaceful aura,
Then how do we explain
Tora! Tora! Tora! ?

And, of course, the Jews,
Fifteen million strong,
Violists with drones,
Blamed for all the wrong.

It doesn't seem to matter,
Not the even nor the odd,
Life's pitter patter
Desecrating God.
