If Only Tears Were Gold Poem by Obodai Sonny

If Only Tears Were Gold

Slaves would be the richest, truth be told...
The lust for pain, the relishment of every scar bestowed,
Every word uttered would result in a bitter scold.
Death would be a blessing to the living
IF ONLY TEARS WERE GOLD

The saying 'barima nsu' would be a taboo, who dares not uphold?
For 'numb you' would be the greatest curse,
so long as every temper has got a threshold...
Spas would be filled with torture devices, are you that bold?
For cowards would die poor
IF ONLY TEARS WERE GOLD

If its truly a fairytale ending as foretold..
i'd gladly hand her a knife to run through my heart, till my body turns cold..
Till the eyes that beholds her beauty is darkzoned..
For my love for her would be worth nothing when sold
IF ONLY TEARS WERE GOLD
