If, Sad Memories Fade Poem by Maxwell B Anderson

If, Sad Memories Fade

Rating: 5.0

It truly is amazing, sometimes
just what the body can endure
Prescriptions, restrictions, poisons
potions, remedies and cures.

My friends and I have done it all
Especially cold winters and the fall.
Our compromised positions have given us
resilience so far; but some pain is still there...

And to describe it like an infected wound
that tries vainly to heal itself;
Or screaming concentration camps
likened to dorment bells.

Well its difficult to keep your composure
whilst your body is still under seige.
But the completion of this crusade for victory
is a task we must complete.

I suppose it just may be, THIS life,
and that subtle reminder.
If you think you are considerate to yourself
there's still room to be a little more 'kinder'...

Is that metaphor restrained, and
just a denial as well?
You may as well quote, the ache is,
'The Paradise and, the Hell.'
