If You Loved, Now Say Goodbye. Poem by Shazza Rixx

If You Loved, Now Say Goodbye.

If you loved me, you wouldn't have let me leave.
If you loved me, you would have told me to stay.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have screamed.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have sent me away.

There were so many things that we left unsaid.
Now I lay here drifting in and out of sleep.
I've fallen so far from who I used to be.
For that lost little girl, in vain I weep.

If you loved me, you would have held my hand.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have told me to go.
If you loved me, you should have told me it was all ok.
If you loved me, you would have let your feelings show.

I smashed a mirror, I cut my wrist.
I screamed, I cried, I tried to shout.
And I had been so depressed for a long time.
This life is so painful, I just want out.

If you loved me, you would have noticed how upset I was.
If you loved me, you would have held me until the hurt was gone.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have let me feel the pain.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have sent me from my home.

I'd thought you'd cared about me, cared about my life.
But everything I knew about our relationship, untrue.
When I needed a friend, someone to hold me.
You left me standing here alone, no one to talk to.

If you loved me, you would have let me know.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have lied.
If you loved me, you wouldn't have walked away
If you loved me, now say goodbye.
