If You Never Hope You Will Never See Beyond Your Hopes Poem by Daya Nandan

Hope is a lion of great strength and courage,
He roars at danger, he is difficult to discourage,
For even when death draws him towards a grave,
Hope stands strong for hope is brave,

Hope is inside all of us, he is part of our being,
He teaches us to stand our ground and to not give in to fleeing,
Hope teaches us to hold on when despair draws near,
The gallant lion within us that makes us look past our fear,

Hope is within us even in the darkest days,
When a goal seems impossible he tells us to try different ways,
Even in the pitch darkness of a moonless and starless sky,
Hope will show us a way to give our goals another try,

When things seem bad, hope tells us things will be alright
Just as there is always a bright dawn after even the darkest night,
Just as there is a magnificent rainbow even after even the worst of storms,
Just as in every problem mankind faces, somehow a solution forms,

Hope stands loyally by us within our gray matter,
Hope roars in determination when our dreams shatter,
Hope pushes to be resourceful with the tools we can find,
Our Panthera leo that teaches us to rebuild broken dreams with our mind,

Nothing in this world is impossible, not everything is as bad as it seems,
Have faith in the lion within, let him mend the broken wings of your dreams,
When you are in great peril and you are about to die,
The valorous lion will reach out to you and give you wings to fly,

Even at times when fear tells us that there is no way,
The dauntless lion tells us to keep negative thoughts at bay,
Hope is for the valiant, hope cannot truly help if you are a coward,
For those who believe the lies of fear are eventually devoured,

Once devoured in thoughts of the weak hearted you will lose control,
The words of the lion will not reach your weakened soul,
Hope is within our instinct, the lion's way on how to remain alive,
Listen to his roar in danger and you will have the knowledge on how to survive,

Trust the lion, let your mind, body and soul be undauntable,
Keep your goals clear and your state of mind well rooted and stable,
Hope is your greatest weapon, never give it up no matter the cost,
For something as beautiful as hope should never be lost.
