If You'Re Hurting Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

If You'Re Hurting

When you feel your heart aching
Try not to dispair
and lose all your hope
It might be that this dream you dream
is not meant for you
However hard you try to hold on
and hope that it lingers
it's trying to slip through your fingers
Let it go

Perhaps your true fate is better, far
Maybe as bright as a sparkling star
Maybe in order to know
you've got to let go
Let go of the things you hoped
Let go of the love that was false
Let go of your heart that was broken
Let go of the hurtful words spoken
and the disgrace
you wear on your face

If you consider leaving this world
as I know I too did so bad
Don't leave it just yet
That would be too sad
For you were meant for something
you feel it inside
It's still there in your heart opened wide
But you just have to wait
Though each day hurts more and more
Soon though life will open another door

Take all of your sadness
and try to let it slowly leave you
Be honest so others might believe you
Welcome the new day
Even though you don't yet know your way
Don't turn from it or wish it away
or let empty things lead you astray
You know better now the truth
and wish to shout it from the roof
But it will do no good
It will only cause hurt

Take your hat and walk away
Though your heart still bids you to stay
Walk out of sadness and pray
for a brighter day
and a happier way
and that love will find you
as you seek your way
Its better to try
than to bid your life goodbye

And if it is so
that love can spring out of nowhere
and grow
That's the only thing you ever wanted to know
Someday love will find you
tied up in a pretty bow
A greater love than you thought
you could ever sow
No more sadness, heartache or woe

Its not yet your time to go
