Ignorance Kept Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Ignorance Kept

One's ignorance kept is self inflicted.
And a choice made to stay that way.
Limited with this sought to be approved.
With it to believe,
If they portray themselves as being victimized.
Sympathy given will arrive to provide benefit.
And this will bestow upon them attention.
While they continue to accuse those motivated,
As having easy lucky lives.
Although the ones motivated with initiative,
Facing challenges on a daily basis.
Do it by examining their own insecurities.
And breaking down barriers of beliefs.
Others enforce upon them to keep.
Hoping they stay remaining ignorant.
For purposes to maintain,
A sustain comedic relief that does not threaten.
Anyone charading to have more intelligence.
