Ignorance Thief Slain Poem by John Sensele

Ignorance Thief Slain

Chalk dust parachutes to the floor
A formula flies on the chalkboard
A curious onlooker spies at the door
Concepts and facts jump on board

Heads nod, heads approve
Blue and black pens race
Understanding and grasp improve
Smiles beam on faces beyond the surface

Where ignorance once flew
Sending cold shivers down spines
Now concepts and facts glue
Glee to gestation as lines

Blessing grasp multiply
Concepts and facts flying
Within hippocampi supply
Joy, mirth, and learning multiplying

By leaps and bounds
The nation smiles in relief
As her human capital breaks new grounds
To slay the ignorance thief.
